Paint Out Norwich Private View, Art Awards & Judges Comments

The Paint Out Norfolk Gardens Series 2019 Private View Art Exhibition and Prize Awards of scenes painted around the county’s famous or hidden gardens en plein air by several dozen competition artists will be on Wednesday 16th October, 6-9pm at the Norwich Cathedral Hostry.

The gardens visited are as follows: Stody Lodge Gardens, Elsing Hall Gardens, Houghton Hall walled garden, Hunworth Hall garden, Norwich Bishop’s Garden and the Norwich Plantation Garden. They range in influence from Anglo to Dutch to French and more besides, as original in design as in artistic depiction.

The competition’s top prizes and judge’s commendations will also be announced and awarded at the event, along with the opportunity to mingle and converse with the artists, organisers, and sponsors. Both the competition event and the exhibition are juried so as to provide the highest quality artworks completed during the painting sessions.

The Paint Out Exhibition will feature several canvasses from each of the competing artists.

The Exhibition continues at the Hostry until the 27th October, but visit early to avoid disappointment – some artists have sold all their works within hours at previous exhibitions.
