Judging, Auction & Exhibition

After Paint Out‘s 2 days in the field (22-23 October), or in this case, the city of Norwich, painting and creating at 4 of the 7 locations the artists returned to The Hostry at Norwich Cathedral for a 2 week Exhibition and one night only special Auction and Private View.

Private View & Auction Event

The Private View and Auction attended by 200 took place on Thursday 23rd October 2014, 7-9:30pm in the beautiful Norwich Cathedral Hostry extension.

TW Gaze auctioneers of DissThe Exhibition featured 3 canvasses from each of the competing artists and an Auction of one work from each plus any worthy of additional special inclusion at the discretion of the judges and auctioneer, TW Gaze of Diss.

There was a short talk by art historian and East Anglia Art Fund (EAAF) director Charlotte Crawley.

After the auction guests were able to converse with the artists and organisers, and winning auction bidders were able to meet the artists who created their purchases.

The winning paintings of the 2014 Paint Out Norwich competition were announced and included in the auction, before their big reveal. In this way bidders were unwittingly able to bid on the first prize!

The Exhibition, which ran for the duration of the Hostry Festival (Friday 24th October – Sunday 2nd November, 9:30am-4:30pm), saw footfall in the thousands and many paintings sold.

Auction Ticket Availability

Tickets were Â£12 each and included drinks provided by Paint Out Norwich principal sponsor Broadland Wineries, canapés courtesy of EDP Norfolk Restaurant of the Year winner Brasted’s, and delicious champagne truffles from Booja Booja Truffles and Desserts.
